Prizes


We are very grateful to have been offered a number of prizes for this ride. Other awards are in the process of being confirmed so watch this space.


The War of the Roses

The winning 'War of the Roses' team (ie Yorkshire or Lancashire) will get a glass knight trophy, a massive box of Roses chocolates to share, and a whole year of national county pride to boast about. Kindly sponsored by Kerry Dawson


Best Condition

All horses who complete a ride of any length on both days will be considered for the "Best Condition Award". This will be awarded to the horse who, in the opinion of the veterinary panel, has come through the weekend's rides in the best condition.


Best feet

There will be a prize for the horse with the best feet each day


Best presentation to the vet

There will be a prize for the combination who in the opinion of the vetting team are considered to have presented themselves in the best manner on each day. 


Factors to be taken into account will be:

- The good manners of the horse and handler

- The straightness and obedience of the trot up

- Overall presentation

- The condition of the horse


Our vets are The Equine Veterinary Centre, Rainbow Equine Hospital, Bishopton Vets and Hird & Partners


Most polite and courteous rider

Our hosts at Breaks Fold Farm have sponsored a 'most polite and courteous rider' award, and the winner will receive a trophy and a free two night stay for a human and a horse at Breaks Fold Farm. The winner will be the person from either day who our hosts believe to have been the most polite, friendly and helpful.


Happy Helper award

All our helpers will get bribed handsomely with chocolate and food over the weekend, but we have a special award each day for the most cheery helper who gets fully into the spirit of things.
