The North & East Group of Endurance GB take great pleasure in inviting you to our Endurance GB national ride near Harrogate, Yorkshire. This is a stunning ‘old fashioned’ endurance ride on the edge of Nidderdale, over an area of outstanding natural beauty. The route covers private land with mown grassy headlands, ancient byway over open moorland, shooting tracks, bridleways, green lanes, and some quiet roads. It is hilly, and a challenge, but there is enough good going to make up for the bits where you have to take your time. Our hosts at Breaks Fold Farm look after us very well, and there is camping, corralling and catering available all weekend.
The Saturday ride goes south from the venue over permissive tracks around Swinsty Reservoir. There will be 10km, 24km and 34km pleasure rides available, and 34km competitive classes.
The Sunday ride will take you north west from the venue, over towards Appletreewick and Grimwith Reservoir. There will be 10km, 20km, 32km and 40km pleasure rides available, and 32km and 40km competitive classes.
We are also offering two day competitive classes: a two day 74km class (34+40), and a two day 56km class (24+32).
As a bit of an extra competitive element, by the end of the weekend we would like to be able to answer that age old question: 'Which side of t'Pennines is the right side?'. At the end of the weekend we will add up all the points and kms ridden in all the classes, and either Yorkshire or Lancashire will be crowned the winners.
The House of York have won for the last three years....Can Lancashire do better in 2019?
